The head quarters for the hippie movement was UC Berkeley, one of the top universities in the world.

Hippies were above average students.

There were two populations in the hippie movement;

1 the group who rejected the status quo e.g. college kids.

2 those who were rejected by society e.g. Manson

People get them mixed up.

You think Manson was a hippie. That is how you see the world?

Manson was a cold blooded killer.

Your ideas are based on a very great misunderstanding of a lot of things.
