Oxford Health membership plan doubted-WSJ
NEW YORK, Dec 8 (Reuters) - The goal of Oxford Health Plans Inc to add more than 500,000 members over the next year has run into resistance among employers, benefits consultants and insurance brokers, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday.
Corporate benefit consultants, for example, are questioning how much growth the health maintenance organization can achieve, it said. And some Wall Street analysts are beginning to think that Oxford may be too optimistic about its growth rate.
Last month, the company's chairman, Steve Wiggins, told investors that he expected to increase enrollment by 578,000 members next year.
The company's efforts to add to its membership are part of a turnaround effort following an unexpected third quarter loss.
I hope they know what they doing, long on OXHP... |
