I have maintained and provided specifics that it is the village/ community/govt ( an agent of the community) that produces a productive citizen. You maintain that it is the father "wedded" to the mother that is responsible. I have said that it is commitment and you have said otherwise. Commitment by way of pulling ourselves and getting something done to get a E. Palo Alto instead of just dragging along and laying blame on others. If it was not for the spirit of the early settlers, we would not have this country. We have lost that spirit today. We have just become mean and many feel that our success is because of our own hard work. The early settlers will say just the opposite. They did it collectively. Some were weak, some were strong. But they all helped one another to get to the promised land.
