"Did you get "psychological screening" before buying a gun?" Of course not! The NRA would never allow that! Talk to some of your gun-hugging buddies about it. Since I bought my guns at a gun show from private sellers, I didn't even need ID! "Because you promise to only use it if someone actually deserves it?" I've never made any such promise. Other than occasional target shooting with my pistol, my guns never leave my house, where I keep them for home defense. I certainly don't carry them around being a self-appointed "neighborhood watchman"! I hope I NEVER have to use them.
