Good for you!
I, too, have left a handful of friends, some of them very longtime, in the same way over the past couple of years.
When another friend recently asked me, in an e-mail, why I walked away from a gal who used to be a mutual friend of both of us, and I told her that it was because she absolutely refuses to listen to anything that isn't spoon-fed to her by the mainstream media, her response was, 'You ended that long friendship over POLITICS????'
I expected that response, so answered as simply and non-confrontationally as I could: 'It isn't 'politics'. It is reverence for truth, honesty and justice, the future of our republic and our children, and gratitude to all of those who sacrificed beyond our comprehension for the foundations that once defined America as unique in the history of mankind.'
In some ways, we need to consider friends who will not listen to the truth, either because it is too painful or simply because they don't care enough to 'waste' gray matter considering it, as enemies of this republic. It is their collective lack of outrage that is allowing the oppression and tyranny of our current 'leadership' to continue, and increase, virtually unchallenged. |
