It is all the top atmospheric scientists not just him. He teaches physics plus being a research scientist. Can you tell a methane molecule from the amazon versus one from the arctic? I doubt it. He developed a quick way of doing it. He also discovered, I think, how formaldehyde forms in the atmosphere and also led a group that debunked a climate denier who claimed trees produce methane. It is important for one to know the limits of ones knowledge.
