Obama had a clear narrative -- that anti-Americanism was fueled by American imperialism and general nastiness, as as soon as he, The Great One, appeared, spreading the new gospel of non-imperialism, respect for the international community, humanitarianism, etc. and so forth, anti-Americanism would clear up or at least greatly lessen. Remember all that stuff about "changing the tone"?

But Obama's narrative has collided with Mideast reality, and to no one's surprise but Obama and his fellow leftists, the narrative did not survive. Now they are all at sea, and being pushed and pulled by events beyond their control.
