R.e the Appalachian.....................I've been fascinated with that area ever since I started reading. I can't remember which book inspired me the most, but I remember being enthralled with the stories of how the area was settled, and what people had to do in order to survive. I loved the description of the flora and fauna.........big hardwood forests and bucks with antlers that reached the sky....... and of log cabins with river rock fireplaces, and I envisioned going there some day.

Later, when I was in my '20s I wanted to hike the famous trail. I'm never going to fulfill that item on my bucket list, but I certainly am going to visit one or more of its parks some day..........not sure which season would be best?

My husband is from back east, so it isn't as important to him, but some day I will see the hardwoods change color in Autumn in New England.

Imagine this.................Appalachia was considered "out west" when our country was first settled.

There's one that slipped right by me. Would you please link me up?
