Good article but fails to mention all the capital and efforts of labor that flowed in from investors into repairing all these abandoned, neglected houses from the financial crisis 2007-09. Certainly neighboring homeowners weren't up to doing the job most times so someone had to step in. Was win, win created lots of jobs, many nice reconditioned move in houses helping the economy recover, the tax base recover and the values and equity of neighboring owner occupied homeowners recover as an added bonus.. Unfortunately too much is controlled by WS and plutocrats these days but many of us small local outfits do our part
