It is precisely the argument that Obama has used -- if we build it they will come. The problem, of course, is that innovative products, to generate economic growth, must be economically viable without taxpayer funding, which the green energy products have not. But the entire concept of the Obama green projects is that if you "invest" in these projects it will create economic growth. Unfortunately, when private enterprise invests taxpayer dollars, it creates a perverse incentive to invest in projects that cannot trigger growth because they don't make economic sense.
