But Clinton never really suffered too much at home for Rwanda. Let's face it, not invading or attacking other countries isn't going to hurt a US president at home, when US interests or people are not being harmed (but screwing up a foreign adventure will hurt). I'd like my country to be out for itself. So whatever we do, I'd like it to be smart, cheap and cost effective. And I don't think it's our job to be the world policeman, or to protect people in other countries from their own governments. If people are unhappy with their governments, they should get rid of them themselves. I don't believe in interfering except where states begin venturing outside their own boundaries to do mischief. It's just so much simpler that way. We, after all, are incarcerating our own citizens at an amazing clip, and we imprison people in appalling conditions- that I'm sure many other countries consider criminal and an affront to human rights. I don't want them using military action on us to change our ways, though. In the end, what happens inside a country is the business of that country.
