I am certain that there are a few republicans who will vote to act militarily in Syria. John Bolton doesn't have a vote in it, so I won't bother including him in the equation.

But you are right, there is a divide in conservative base. There are the libertarian/tea party types who want a responsible government and there are the progressive republicans who are really more like democrats, even if they would vehemently deny it.

Not only is the heart and soul of the republican party at stake, the heart and soul of this county is on the line. The Paul/Cruz libertarians are the ones who can save this country. And I think that scares the entrenched republicans as much as it scares the democrats. That's why we see such vicious attacks against the likes of Sarah Palin, Allen West, Paul and Cruz.
