I think all that is a good thing, but what I want to know is the school system working for the poor kids--maybe it is as per the test scores--and I also don't mean to say it is your job to find the data on that--if it even exists.

It certainly is evident from that article that the Seattle school system is working for some of the kids.

What we have here in NC is some county systems with magnet schools in the cities where they too have the AP classes to attract suburban kids. And the suburban kids do go and raise the test scores of the city schools, but what is not known to me, maybe the school system knows, is whether the economically challenged kids (those on free lunches) are being helped by this process or not.
