We are five years into this experiment. If nothing had been done and we let everything collapse permanently this would probably be more like 1934-35 today, the early innings of recovery from 25%+ unemployment without any handouts. Would have been riots on the streets by J6P maybe even including some of the blood sucking plutocrats and bankers bailed out..
