It's our moral obligation to help the poor. Liberals don't want that.

Instead, they want to create a utopia where such an obligation isn't required.

I believe they're well-intentioned, regardless of how they want to get there.

But every single thing they've done, ostensibly to help the poor, has resulted in the poor being worse off. The only real success story was Gingrich & Clinton's welfare reform in the 90s, which runs counter to everything liberals today believe in.

Eventually, some liberal is going to come out and say it -- "We've tried giving them money and the harder we try, the worse off they are." In the meantime, it makes THEM feel better, so they do it (BTW, this isn't reserved to liberals -- Republicans are guilty as hell, too).
