Okay, that's fair enough. I was pretty specific in my post. Why don't you tell me where it is you think FEMA failed? I'll agree that there was a lot of wasted money, just as there was in the recent Sandy effort (although the Sandy money was lost to fraud, while the Katrina money was largely spent on efforts that proved to be futile).

Dave, we've been around and around over this issue and you just don't understand FEMA's role in a disaster..........or you don't want to understand. I can never decide which it is with you. Suffice to say FEMA screwed up every which way during Katrina. Hell the president was in San Diego playing his banjo and raising money for his favorite charity...........the GOP........while the levees broke in NOLA. Even after the levees broke, the best Bush could do was have AF one dip a wing so he could take a gander at the city as he flew back to DC.

If that was the worst thing that happened.....well you could say Bush was an unfeeling asshole but at least the people were helped by FEMA. But they weren't........FEMA under Bush couldn't fight its way out of a paper bag. It was embarrassing and Americans were furious. Its why Bush got his ass back to NOLA asap.

Now you can play pretend and mind fuck with your own brain, but the fact is the FEMA response to Katrina was a disaster and it showed just how incompetent Republicans are when it comes to governance.
