I have always been against births that take place without two parents. I don't care if the parents are married or not, as long as they plan to stay together- but children do better with two parents- when you norm for income. So two rich parents beat one rich parent, and two poor parents beat one poor parent. No matter the income level, children do better with two adults to rely on. It just makes sense. And fathers are important role models- wtihout one a child is at a disadvantage.
