I am sure Obama is not listening to the Saudis. He is listening to the American people which a US President has not done for a long time. He is getting their representatives on board first and then he will go to them. He is also working with the UN inspectors which Bush didn't do. I am sure he will also consult with NATO (Turkey and France, it looks like are already on board) Obama is a smart man. He has his head and heart where they usually are, surely they are not in his balls and his ass.
