The consensus seems to be that somehow the industry has made an instantanous switch to MR over night, when even WDC says it will take until June to reach a 75% MR product mix.

I don't know about an instantaneous switch TO MR. It appears more like a major switch FROM TFI to no production while MR production ramps up. I have two questions for you, because my facts may be wrong:

1. Is there any major manufacturer still sticking with TFI now that WDC has (dramatically) accelerated the switch off of TFI production? In fact, is any other major drive manufacturer even using significant TFI anymore?

2. Didn't WDC say they were going to work closely with >>>RDRT<<< on their MR program?
