Stopping at the first step would be almost impossible as it was in those campaigns. As the former American ambassador to Syria commented “A couple of cruise missiles are not going to change their way of thinking.” And, Zinni put it in more pointed terms, “You’ll knee-jerk into the first option, blowing something up, without thinking through what this could lead to.” That's what people were saying about Libya. I feel confident that Obama will keep us from getting embroiled. Let me add......the kind of war Bashar is running is pretty disgusting. For an example, his jets go on random bombing missions. They drop their bombs and then wait 20 min. Then they come back to bomb the people who have gathered to rescue people trapped in the bombed bldgs. He is doing this crap to his own people; not an invading force. Its disgusting. Someone who wants power that badly needs to have that power taken from him.
