You are assuming that act (gassing) MUST be accompanied by a bombing. I reject that assumption. The Obama administration and MSM have framed it that way.

If we bomb, Syria and Russia will retaliate and it all goes down hill from there. Too dangerous., the entire ME is going up in flames in a civil war and we need to stay out of it.

We should help the millions of refugees get shelter and food, but stay out. Bombing is a losing play.

We should not get in the middle of a tribal gang fight in a brier patch.

if we bomb Syria what happens when they do it again? do we bomb Iran when they get nuclear, Libya, Afghanistan when the Taliban and Al Qaeda returns, Egypt when it devolves into a civil war, Iraq?

The ME is a 7th century culture metamorphosing into a 21st century culture and that is going to be a mess.
