It seems to me that, if the House votes against authorizing American use of military force in Syria, republicans will pay a terrible political price. The administration, and the mainstream media, will attempt to connect them with every future use of chemical/biological weapons in the Middle East. They will claim that, had Barack Obama been allowed by congress (i.e., the House) to use force against the Assad regime, it would have sent an undeniable message to others in the area who were considering the use of such weapons. But because the republicans stood in the way of sending that strong message, the continued/increased use of those WMDs lies entirely on their shoulders.

That's right. The low info voter as you called him/her who normally doesn't pay much attention to the antics of Congress will be paying close attention on this issue. And what will they see.........a very dysfunctional House and a crazy group of Rs. Its why there is talk that by 2014 Boehner will be out as Speaker and why McConnell is fighting for his political life in KY.

Couldn't happen to a 'nicer' group of people!
