Texas also has no income tax. But. sales taxes are high, as are local property taxes. All pay, just through different methods. Income tax is less regressive than others.

I don't mind paying taxes when you get something back. In MN and in WA, I feel like you get your money's worth.

In Seattle, I feel like we are making progress on several different levels in addressing issues that hurt cities. One issue is education. I just posted this article by a Seattle Times columnist who has two school age kids in Seattle public schools:
