I drove from LA thru Vegas to Grand Junction then east to Gunnison a few weeks ago.

Saint George was the only town that looked like it was "prosperous". Way too many towns under 25k population were just boarded up downtown. It's a depression for a crap load of folks.

Even Vegas was a wekend town. Weekdays had barely a pulse in the summer. Imagine this, i tried to find some live music on a Thursday night and the only venues are the upscale disco clubs with "live" DJ's. No rock n roll to be found.
