The haters try to have it both ways... Microsoft spent a lot of money to buy something completely worthless; and Microsoft ripped off something incredibly valuable for next to nothing.

Its pretty funny. The truth lies somewhere in between. Microsoft brought a business with a truly amazing legacy, amazing technology and talent and incredible potential value - but is a capital and labor intensive business and the low end has slim margins on high volumes. It is part of MS's strategy to transform themselves, there are absolutely no guarantees of success, and MS will have to invest a lot more going forward if they are to see success.

But as has been noted... there is absolutely amazing blockbuster potential here. :)
