I get this sense and hope that the board has a moral obligation to do right for its shareholders. We all know it was a gut wrenching, pride swallowing decision to sell the devices division.

After 50 meetings and deliberating for 3 quarters of a year, i hope they feel they are doing what is most prudent and best for the shareholders and nokia for the long run. There must be something on the other side.

The board is fully aware what nokia and its proud heritage means to finland. The weight of this should steer their conscience to the best course If they have aany sense of honor.

I just want them to utter these words: stock buyback, or monetization of patents. Everyone that wants out get out. They should seize this opportunity to reduce the bloated number of shares to match the leaner nokia.

All in all, this transaction was probably the result of great fear and great hope. Nokia has chosen their new direction and will now have to boldly execute on their chosen path.

Networks, high barriers to entry. Biggest obstacle is right sizing and right targetting the lte bullseye. (With qualcomm experience helping to lay the roadmap.

HERE (no chinese manufacturers out to cut their throats. Duopoly and 2nd choice to google. Their partnership with qualcomm on next gen indoor positioning. (working with qualcomm is always a benefit as far as I am concerned as qualcomm is usually on the bleeding edge. From what I understand their are alot of apps just waiting to be born as soon as indoor positioning is done right. One killer app can turn the tide. i'm not sure if google is working with anyone on indoor positioning, so nokia may be on the outer edge of the frontier compared to google.

Licensing.: dont know what they have up their sleeve. But they are one of the oldest cell phone players in this relatively young industry. Which to me means they will have appicable patents to exert.
