I am much smarter and substantially more moral than the pre-scientific tribal barbarians who imagined a powerful God (as all tribes did) and boasted of their superiority and privilege under that aegis. The God invented by that group of tribal wanderers was intended to be a God that could do the ultimate in cruelty, harm, and indiscriminate evil.

They did a good job! They created an irrational, vicious, and genocidal monster, who to our knowledge has never been equalled for coarse and bloodthirsty savagery in all of history. I have nothing but contempt for such a reification of primitive ideas.
