I heard a former principal of an elementary school (retired last year) talk about one example of Common Core. It seems, for example I am using 3rd grade, that every student in that grade must read the same books. Statewide in our liberal state. If the child is an advanced reader, he cannot go to a higher reading list. He must stay in 3rd grade. If the child is struggling, he must stay in 3rd grade and cannot go to remedial reading.

This is evil.
