Yes, no matter what the forcing function (within reason) there will always eventually be an equilibrium - that's what stops any planet getting continually hotter. But you can't take any comfort from that conclusion - the average temperature of Venus, driven almost entirely by a profound greenhouse effect because its atmosphere is 96% CO2, is 860 degrees Fahrenheit. So your T to the fourth doesn't do you much good there.


This is my last post on the subject - I have no illusions that I might be able to convince folks that have already made up their minds on the issue.


(I would add that I personally was initially somewhat skeptical on the science behind global warming. But I researched the subject comprehensively and as a result I now have little doubt that it is a real and significant issue in the long term. Whether that long term is 50 year so 150 I have no idea though).
