Kenneth, today, at the fitness center, I had a discussion with a retired Army Ranger Colonel. He stated that the Russian's had a military naval port facility in Tartus, Syria, and the the Russians were fearful of the fact wondering what would happen if the opposition overruns the Syria's Government. I did not know about the Tartus Russian Port in Syria. Did you? The Colonel was stationed in Italy and Turkey at various times.

I came home and went to the following Wikipedia site to see what I could find and then went to a google map download of the Tartus port. It was very interesting, in my judgement, as to what could be the possible rationale as to why the Russian's made the proposal they made today regarding getting rid of the Syria's gases.

See the below sites for your review and possibly further sites for members of this site and your continued review.

I am sure that Russia's would not want the US flying over their base with B-2 Bombers, and/or cruise missiles to take out the Syria's gas storage locations.
