Berenberg Turns Bullish on Nokia, Ericsson - Market Talk Last update: 9/11/2013 3:42:02 AM 0742 GMT [Dow Jones] Berenberg lifts its ratings for Nokia (NOK) and Ericsson (ERIC), both to buy from sell, and Alcatel-Lucent (ALU) to hold from sell. Says recent developments have led it to re-think its investment thesis on the wireless equipment sector. The bank now expects an "arms race" between telcos in Europe, similar to what has been the case in the U.S. and Japan over previous network infrastructure investment cycles, and even more so after Vodafone's (VOD.LN) recent cash windfall and subsequent decision to "fire the capex bazooka in Europe." Moreover, Berenberg says wireless infrastructure vendors are showing more price discipline than before, and that this is likely to prevail. "In fact, industry margin structure has already started to ameliorate and could continue to surprise on the upside," it says. Lifts Nokia target price to EUR5.80 from EUR1.50, Ericsson to SEK108 from SEK60 and Alcatel to EUR2.50 from EUR0.70.
