In the village of al-Khratta almost all the 37 locals were killed. Only ten people were able to escape. A total of twelve Alawite villages were subjected to this horrendous attack. That was a true slaughterhouse. People were mutilated and beheaded. There is even a video that shows a girl being dismembered alive – alive! – by a frame saw. The final death toll exceeded 400, with 150 to 200 people taken hostage. Later some of the hostages were killed, their deaths filmed. Granted, the original source for that article is a nun talking to a Russian outlet and that can’t be considered a rock solid source. On the other hand, this nun isn’t any more or less credible than a lot of the sources that are being treated as reliable in Syria. Moreover, Al-Qaeda is known for bombing children and throwing acid in their faces. It wouldn’t exactly be out of character for Al-Qaeda to saw a child in half while she was still alive.
