Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) on track for Southeast Asia Reuters, Friday, November 21, 1997 at 18:17 REDMOND, Wash., Nov 21 (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp expects to have no problem meeting its sales goals for southeast Asia in the current 1998 fiscal year, despite economic turmoil in the region, a company executive said Friday. Blas Garcia-Moros, regional director for southeast Asia, said in an interview that the company is ahead of plan so far this fiscal year, which began July 1, 1997. He declined to give dollar figures, but said sales rose 50 percent year-on-year in the first quarter against 65 percent in fiscal 1997. Microsoft's plan calls for sales growth of less than 50 percent in the six country region this year. |
