Even Augustine had his fill with the much of the primitive capriciousness of that God of the OT, theology does change & evolve, you're own religion is living proof of that. You can only beat dead horses so much, truth is simple. There is no reason that classical humanism & Christianity are not completely compatible as is religion & science of evolution, that there's the psychological need to install a heavenly father to remind you of your obligation to love & complete some coded covenant, could also be directly construed to have its source a evolutionary psychological basis. Dawkins fullfills his purpose as a teacher, his books are wonderful, God is free anytime to strike him down but since we spotted another 100bil galaxies out there besides our own, a personal god watching over this one small planet seems farther & farther out. ( would go for the middle ground than beat the dead horse, truth has gotten larger since 500ad)
