Rod:

Appreciate your recent contributions over on the Novell board.

From Techweb:

>Novell is considering using its $1 billion in cash for the acquisition of a hot product that could benefit from Novell's robust channel, said the company's chief executive, Eric Schmidt.
"One of the ideas we have been toying around with is to buy products
that need channels," said Schmidt in a conference call with analysts.>

Call me silly, but I've turned bullish on Novell and have a position in Applix because I think it's a great target for their channel.

I have heard inside Applix that they've recently been talking with Novell. Check out Novell's story. I would expect an announcement very soon....They have over $1 billion in cash and Applix would be a great fit with their "pure Java-on-the-server" strategic direction.

I think the Novell announcement moved this stock more than anything else.

Thoughts?
