Sure, when the US instituted public education to be run by our democracy!

It was mostly private before that. When they instituted mandatory 12 years of public school, millions of new kids got an education and then the GI bill took thousands more kids and gave them college degrees.

And the country benefited.

Do you think Plato, Aristotle and Socrates, Einstein, Tolstoy or Bertrand Russell lived their lives thinking about money?

They spent their lives thinking about ideas

I have spent half my life in the public sector and half in the private. The amount of thinking about ideas is 10 to 1 public sector to private sector.

I never discuss ideas in the private sector.

Ideas are the whole ball game in life, and they need to be discussed!

Not a taboo. People who do not think about ideas, don't think.
