We've done all of that, and those have been the best camping experiences. You get to know your way around, and end up talking to other people who know it too. Pretty soon you're doing some camping in beautiful places you never knew existed. That's one of the main reasons we've stayed small..........to get into places where other rigs won't fit.

How difficult is it to find an unused driveway off of a
back road, and just pull in for the night?

One thing I liked about my AT hike was being remote
for 5 or 6 days, then going into town/campground
overnight. In town long enough to do laundry, get a
good meal, maybe catch a movie or play golf, then
move on. Is this possible with an RV?
