As a SFA customer under the "per seat" pricing, I will purchase the absolute minimum number of seats. This will limit use and penetration of the SFA in my company and preclude any inclusion of downstream vendors or my customers.

Hardly. If they see sufficient value, most customers will purchase the appropriate number of seats. Remember, with this model the customer is purchasing a limit on the number of concurrent users--the client itself is available to many more people.

I don't have time to check it out, but I should be very surprised if BROC goes to a model where it books revenue based on server use. Not only is this very difficult in terms of logisitics, but this model would defer revenues. Why would a product company want to get into what is essentially subscription billing?
