When collectivists want to hurt people, they say society deems it necessary.

I was reading about FDR's internment of Japanese-Americans recently. It seems AG Biddle and J Edgar Hoover were dead set against it on the grounds there was no security justification. The cartoonist later known as Dr. Seuss (liberal Democrat) was a big voice FOR internment:



FDR intended to intern the Japanese Americans who lived in Hawaii, in addition to the ones on the US west coast. But the Army and Navy told him the war effort needed the skilled laborers in that community.
