But not at the expense of public education. Society deems that necessary.
Why stop at HS. It is really unfair that private schools like Harvard, MIT and Stanford are allowed to compete with the noble public colleges. If we got rid of all of those private colleges and universities, we could push everyone into state colleges. Of course the local school boards would control who gets to go to which school, just like they do for all of the other levels that they run democratically. I am sure that would be a big improvement.
