From their financial statements:

26.7 Million GoldStar @ $55
6.4 Million Business @ $110
3.8 Million add-on @ 55

Total Membership Fees == $2.382B

Total profits, last four reported quarter = $2.031B

As I said, ALL of their profits are in the membership fees.

You are probably right........Costco doesn't have the profit margins that Wal Mart does.

>> Walmart's Sams Club gets membership dues and doesn't make the profits of Costco Costco manufactures a lot of their own products.

Not sure what you're referring to, but CostCo does not manufacture its own products

Additionally, Costco Wholesale Industries, a division of the Company, operates manufacturing businesses, including special food packaging, optical laboratories, meat processing and jewelry distribution. These businesses have a common goal of providing members with high quality products at substantially lower prices.

The key is Costco believes that its employees should benefit from its success while Wal Mart believes their asshole employees are lucky to have a job. And not surprisingly Wal Mart's employees are not grateful and are demanding more.
