Hi Road Walker; Re why Costco can pay their employees more than Walmart.

I'm guessing that when Costco sells a can of Pepsi, they do better than Walmart. That is, there's more money available for the management, employees and owners to split.

Could be because Costco is very restrictive about who it lets into their stores. This could give them a lower cost of theft. And whenever I've seen a Costco, it's been filled to the gills with people. And maybe they spend less money on advertising and the like.

In any case, the two companies aren't in the same market. If they were, then there would presumably be some small advantage to either paying employees more or paying them less.
