Name a small government country that works for their citizens

Hong Kong since John Cowperwaithe.

The brilliant success of their laissez-faire policies is causing varying degrees of emulation, particularly in parts of the orient. China, while hardly free, has earned the reserves to begin to (crudely) spread the benefits of commerce even to Africa.

Same as since capitalism began to evolve in Scotland five centuries past, where freedom waxes the tends are favorable. Not so where it wanes.

It's obvious the denizens of the USA have done well vis-à-vis most other places. Those not exposed to serious analysis of the nature of prosperity can easily believe that's because of government, rather than in spite of.

The tide has turned. It may take a while for the idolaters of statism to begin questioning their premises and look elsewhere for better explanations.
