In some instance yes and others no. Some people should never have the job, although it is somewhat comforting that they are weeded out relatively swiftly.

Affirmative action hires and promotions for women are very bad as well. Affirmative action applied in the manner it has been places a stigma on the good as well as the bad.

The greatest bias appears to be against white males and following that males in general.
