Walgreens is not on the hook to provide healthcare, making them more competitive.
Same argument is being used in support of single-payer, i.e. a complete government takeover of the health insurance industry. "If employers aren't on the hook to provide health care, they'll be 'more competitive.'"

The problem is that there is no free lunch. Someone ends up footing the bill. If taxes on businesses get raised, the net effect is a wash, but now government has more control.
