He's an establishment Republican who wants to put the Republican party just a hair to the right of the Democrats, wherever they are at any time.

The Republican establishment has done this a long time. Have been reading about the FDR years. The Republicans ran Landon, Willkie, Dewey against FDR and all those Republicans ran supporting the New Deal. They just said they'd run it better than FDR. Willkie had been a Democrat 2 years before the Republicans nominated him for their Pres. candidate.

Ditto for Congressional elections .. till 1946. That year the Republican candidates ran and won big on the ANTI New Deal slogan, "Had enough of the Alphabet?"

If Republicans run as just a tiny bit more conservative than Democrats, they lose. The only way they can win is by giving Americans a REAL choice.
