Inode, the problem that Republicans face is that ObamaCare has already "succeeded." It has forever shifted the debate decidedly toward the left, where the underlying assumption is that health care is an entitlement.

Even now Republicans are being challenged to provide an alternative to ObamaCare that would address the concerns of millions of uninsured Americans. Even if Republicans did the right thing (from a conservative perspective) and addressed some of the problems with rising health care costs, it would not be enough.

In my opinion, it's inevitable that health care will end up becoming universal, for better or for worse. My advice to the Republicans is to stop trying to swim against that tide and stop trying to defund ObamaCare. That makes about as much sense as trying to defund Social Security and Medicare.

Just focus on trying to streamline the government we have and drive policies that will eventually empower citizens to take control of their own health care and retirement.
