Ted, as a person that played in the corporate world much longer than Ten has, I can tell you that most BOD's, especially in Silicon Valley, are composed of OTHER CEO's! That's what's caused the ridiculous CEO compensation in this country. In other countries, BOD's are mandated by the government to have at least some representatives of labor on the BOD.
