Gold Down Again On Bullard Blather
blogs.barrons.com

Gold futures took a leg lower and funds look ready to follow after a Federal Reserve official hinted a slowdown in the central bank’s bond purchases could come as early as next month.

St. Louis Fed President James Bullard said the “taper” could arrive as early as October if the economic data warrants such a move.

It would be a minor upset to some strategists, as this blog noted earlier today. The most heavily traded gold futures contract is down by 1.1% as 9:30 a.m. ET approaches, at $1,354.
