the rate of cost increase has shown a definite slowdown..... Over a short period of time, which also had a financial crisis, a severe recession and a weak recovery. Although I guess in the long run the growth will slow down as well, but the only thing that makes me think that is that if something is unsustainable, eventually it won't be sustained. You don't have to take Part B Which is only part of the whole. Also doctors who take Medicare patients, who don't totally opt out of the program, can't take 65+ patients outside of Medicare.
